Keroche Breweries heiress Anerlisa Muigai has responded to a leaked screenshot circulating online, showing her request for friends to assist in raising Ksh.3 Million for her fiancé's bail. The leaked chat reveals that Anerlisa's fiancé, Josiah Kariuki, CEO of Silica Booster Limited (SBL), was charged on May 6 by the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court for allegedly manufacturing, distributing, and selling substandard fertilizer. Anerlisa has dismissed these allegations as propaganda orchestrated by her fiancé's competitors, who she believes are attempting to undermine his business.

Josiah, implicated in the distribution of counterfeit fertilizer, faced seven charges, including conspiracy to defraud, altering false documents, and applying a standardization mark to a commodity that does not comply with Kenyan standards and other laws. Trouble arose when his bail amount was set at Ksh.3 million, unexpectedly higher than the anticipated Ksh.1 million, which allegedly the Nero Water CEO was aware they were supposed to pay.

In a bid to compel her friends to help raise about Sh. 1.2 million as Josiah's friends had raised Sh. 1.8 million, Anerlisa promised that the money raised would be refunded once her man's bank accounts were unfrozen.

Reacting to the leaked chat,, Anerlisa took to her socials where she started by confirming that yes she was in a fix following her man's bail being changed unexpectedly as seen in the screen grab shared by a blogger on X.

She went on to highlight her disappointment in the betray noting that the said group where the the leaked chat had come from has only six members, making it easy for her to dissect and figure out who the mole that leaked the conversation was.

"When you thought you had real friends then boom, a blogger sends you a screenshot from a very enclosed group. Tomorrow could be you. At least I know I cannot count on everyone and that's okay. And yes we managed to get out without your help. We good. #God First," part of her post addressing the issue read.

Accompanying the post, the entrepreneur shared a meme that cautioned people on how to tell the difference between fake and real friends.

"Fake friends are like shadows: always near you at your brightest moments but nowhere to be seen at your darkest hour. True friends are like stars, you don't always see them but they are always there," the quote read.
