Bien Aime Baraza, the Sauti Sol phenomenon, has made news again after moving his well-liked nightclub to the affluent neighborhoods of Kilimani.
The Manhattan, Bien's well-known bar and grill, closed its doors, shocking Nairobi's nightlife scene as the club's managers filed a lawsuit against the landlord over unsolved issues.
Originally launched in July 2022, The Manhattan boasted a prime location at the crossroads of Mombasa Road and the entrance to the bustling Imara Daima Estate, situated on the first floor of The Imaara Mall.
Its star-studded grand opening drew a glittering array of celebrities, including Comedian Eric Omondi, Eugene Mbugua, MC Antonio, Chiki Kuruka (Bien’s wife), Comedian Eddie Butita, Comedian Nick BigFish, and Comedian Carlos Experience, among others.
However, a statement issued on April 5 by the club’s directors, including Bien, revealed that unresolved disputes with the landlord forced the club to shut its doors in March.
