A gathering of veteran KBC actors, including Mama Kayai convened to honor the late Mzee Ojwang ahead of the nineth anniversary of his passing.

Mogaka and Mama Kayai led the assembly in heartfelt prayers as they visited Mzee Ojwang's gravesite at Lang'ata Cemetery.


In a recent interview, Mama Kayai revealed that the tribute will be recorded and aired on KBC as part of their acting program.

To commemorate the ninth anniversary of Benson Wajau's passing, known by his stage name Mzee Ojwang, veteran KBC actors have united in his honor.

Mzee Ojwang's Impact

Mzee Ojwang left an indelible mark on the Kenyan cinema industry before his passing on July 12, 2015. The cast of Vitimbi visited Mzee Ojwang's grave at Lang'ata Cemetery, accompanied by Mama Kayai.

Mama Kayai shared a video of Mogaka leading prayers at the grave, where the brief ceremony visibly moved Mama Kayai, who had a close bond with Mzee Ojwang.

Mama Kayai had earlier disclosed that this year they will be honoring Ojwang's death anniversary with a unique celebration.

She claimed that they were going to film the celebration, and that footage will subsequently air on KBC as a segment of their acting program.

"We have never observed the anniversary of Mzee Ojwang's passing, but it is next month. We are going to honor him this time," she stated.

Along with Mogaka, Ole Matope, Mwende, Katunge, Jakababa, Kabu, and Chemasunde, we visited his burial as colleagues. Mama Kayai said in an interview, "We are having our preparations recorded and shown on KBC," she added.
