Rising Florida rapper Julio Foolio was shot and killed outside a hotel in the Tampa area. Waza News has verified.

Only a few hours after his client's passing, his lawyer Lewis Fusco made an announcement about the death on Sunday. The statement said that Julio, whose true name was Charles Jones, was visiting the area to celebrate his birthday.

Fusco cites law enforcement reports claiming that, despite initially staying at an AirBnb, he was ejected for exceeding the maximum occupancy and checked into a nearby Holiday Inn.

The incident happened in the hotel parking lot just before five AM ET, and according to Julio's attorneys, the rapper was ambushed and killed. Right now, they are requesting privacy for the family.

Although they stated they would have to wait for the Medical Examiner's Office to confirm, Tampa Police stated they believe Jones was the victim of the shooting.

During the ambush, three more people were reportedly shot and taken to the hospital. All of them are anticipated to recover completely, and police are looking into what caused the shooting. We've contacted law enforcement to get more information, but we haven't heard back yet.

Julio Foolio first gained notoriety in 2018 with the release of his first album, "6toven." After that, he put out a number of albums, the most recent of which is "Resurrection," which he dropped back in April.

His songs frequently alluded to killings that had allegedly occurred in the Jacksonville region, some of which were gang-related. In another incident last year, he was shot in the foot.

He was at the time of death 26.
