Julio Foolio's family and friends bid farewell to the late rapper in a way that reflected his persona—by dissing his rival, Yungeen Ace. On Sunday, July 7, a viral video surfaced showing a woman, believed to be Foolio's girlfriend, energetically participating in the service. Along with other attendees, she passionately rapped Foolio's Yungeen Ace diss track, "When I See You," with lyrics like, "Went out to eat on his birthday/Four shot, three dead in the worst way/He kept dissin’ on me/Now we smokin’ 23."

The feud between Yungeen Ace, a member of the ATK gang, and Foolio, part of the Jacksonville gang KTA, dates back to 2017. Tensions escalated in 2018 when Foolio's cousin, Zion Brown, was shot and killed. An associate of Ace was charged with Brown's murder, according to The Florida Times Union.

In retaliation, Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, and his associates attacked Ace and his crew, resulting in a shootout at a Town Center restaurant. Ace, born Kenyatta Bullard, was shot eight times but survived. Tragically, three others—Ace’s brother Tre’von Bullard, 18, Royale D’Von Smith Jr., 18, and Jercoby Da’Shad Groover, 19—were killed in the incident.

This violence led Ace to release the song "Who I Smoke" in 2021, in which he called out Jones’ associates who had been killed. Foolio responded with "When I See You," mocking the deaths of the three young men in the Town Center shooting.

The conflict reached a tragic climax on Monday, June 24, when Julio Foolio was shot and killed while celebrating his 26th birthday in Tampa. According to Foolio’s attorney, Lewis Fusco, the rapper was ambushed in a hotel parking lot.

Fusco explained that Foolio had been in Tampa for his birthday celebrations and had to relocate from an Airbnb to a Holiday Inn due to occupancy issues. It was in the Holiday Inn parking lot that the fatal ambush occurred.
