President William Ruto has emphasized the government's dedication to improving electricity connectivity at the grassroots level. He highlighted this initiative as a key strategy to boost business activities nationwide.

Speaking on Wednesday at the commissioning of the Kimuka Power Substation in Kajiado County, President Ruto stated, "The last mile electricity connectivity at the grassroots is one of our government's priorities to foster business activity across the country."

Ruto explained that the Kimuka Substation will play a vital role in enhancing the existing power distribution network by offloading 80 megawatts from the overburdened Nairobi North Substation. This strategic redistribution is expected to address system instability, ensuring a more reliable and sustainable electricity supply across the region.

"This will reduce system instability, guarantee adequate and reliable electricity supply, and boost our industrialisation agenda," he added.

President Ruto noted that the Substation is set to benefit over 600,000 people in areas including Karen, Dagoretti, Kikuyu, Kabete, Ngong, Matasia, Magadi, and Ngemwa.
