Eminem's new songs have brought his daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, to tears, as she reveals the emotional impact they’ve had on her. On her podcast, "Just a Little Shady," Hailie opened up about two deeply personal tracks, "Somebody Save Me" and "Temporary," saying the music videos were overwhelming and revealed aspects of her childhood she hadn’t fully grasped before.
Hailie shared that she’s only watched the "Save Me" music video once and doesn’t plan to do so again. "I definitely cry every time I hear it," she admitted. "Between that and ‘Temporary,’ I audibly sobbed for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary.’"
"Somebody Save Me," which features Jelly Roll on the chorus, is a lyrical apology from Eminem to Hailie and his other children, expressing regret for prioritizing drugs over them during his battle with addiction. The video includes old home footage of his kids, making it particularly emotional for Hailie.

"Temporary," on the other hand, reflects on Eminem’s thoughts about the future, specifically his death. In the song, he advises Hailie not to mourn him for too long and to move forward with her life, which Hailie found especially heavy.
Reflecting on her childhood, Hailie said the songs made her realize how much she didn’t understand about her father’s struggles back then. "I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up that I didn’t realize how bad things were. But now, as an adult, it’s scary to think about. That’s why I get so emotional, just knowing what could have happened."
Hailie also expressed sympathy for those who have lost loved ones to addiction. Eminem, who nearly died from an overdose in 2007, has been open about his past struggles, including a time when he was consuming up to 20 pills a day. He celebrated 16 years of sobriety in April, marking the milestone with a photo of his Alcoholics Anonymous chip.
