Awinja, a former Papa Shirandula performer rose to fame for her part in the show as a housekeeper. She took on the character of a kienyeji girl. She recalled growing up in poverty in Eastleigh and losing her father when she was a small child.

Narrating about how he secured the acting role at Papa Shiradula's show, he had this to say.

“I went for an audition and it happened that Charles was part of the panel. After the third audition, I passed but then I don’t know what happened to the project.



“Almost a year later, he called me saying ‘I’m not calling you for that role you auditioned for but for Papa Shirandula. I’m giving you a house girl role and she is from Mumias’,” she narrated.


She was in disbelief as she had landed the role which was out of her comfort zone. Vike braced herself and gave it her all and is now one of the most successful actresses in the film industry.

According to Awinja, she had done the set books traveling theatre for almost a year, so the new role was quite challenging but she made it through. She will make you laugh and still get a serious message home. Awinja is a Kenyan content creator. She is among the many creators who are doing well in content creation. Awinja has a 5-year-old son who has never been exposed to the public.

"My mum wanted me to be an air hostess and even enrolled me in a college and paid my fees, but my heart was not there so I would go to the Kenya National Theatre for rehearsals instead of attending school," she recounted.

Over the Christmas holiday last year, Awinja caused tremors in Vihiga county with her yellow Jeep since arriving in the western part of the country for the Christmas holidays. Fans of Papa Shiradula's show actress took to social media to beg her to unveil her boy's face.
