Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya recently introduced the woman he was in a relationship with before his political career. In a video posted on Instagram, Salasya shared that he had been in a "come we stay" arrangement from 2016 to 2017 in the Juakali area of Kakamega, but the relationship eventually ended.

"We were in a come-we-stay marriage, though we used to argue and fight after drinking," he said with a hint of humor, adding that he was happy to see her thriving in her business. Salasya admitted that, looking back, he had good taste and emphasized that they are now just friends, although she has since had a child with someone else.

The MP praised his former partner for her hard work and business success, vowing to support her ventures. He also reflected that perhaps it was part of God’s plan for the relationship to end, as he may have been distracted by her beauty instead of pursuing his ambition to become a politician.

In April, Salasya revealed his intention to have three wives, despite turning down several marriage proposals. He recounted a past incident where a former girlfriend broke his expensive phone after discovering some of his messages.

Salasya clarified that moving forward, he would prefer a partner who allows him to "cheat peacefully."
