Diana Marua’s cyber harassment case against Willy Paul has been closed after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) determined that the evidence against him was illegally obtained and, therefore, inadmissible in court. Marua had accused Willy Paul of cyber harassment, leading to the confiscation and analysis of his phone by the Communication Authority of Kenya. A report with the findings was submitted on December 21, 2021.
However, it later emerged that the forensic evidence had been collected without a court order, making it invalid for use in court proceedings.
In response, Willy Paul expressed his gratitude to the ODPP for their impartial review of the case and acknowledged the stress the accusations had caused him. He expressed relief that justice had been served. "This isn’t the first time I’ve faced false accusations.
