BTS, the globally popular boy band, has been on hiatus since 2022 due to South Korea's compulsory military service requirement for men under 30. J-hope, BTS' lead dancer, reunited with fellow member Jin, who finished his service in June. The two embraced before J-hope saluted the media and fans waiting outside.

Reflecting on his military experience, J-hope said, "Over the past year and a half, I've witnessed the incredible sacrifices made by soldiers to protect our country. " He called for public support of active-duty personnel and thanked his fans for their patience and unwavering support.

Fans welcomed J-hope's return outside the military base with colorful banners, life-sized cutouts, and even a giant balloon. One banner read, "The sun is finally shining upon ARMY," a nod to BTS' devoted fandom.

Another humorously stated, "My bank account! It's ready to go straight to J-hope!" Despite official warnings to stay away, around 50 fans, including international followers from China and Brazil, showed up.

Japanese fans even rented a bus to travel the 100 kilometers from Seoul to see the idol's return.

Industry analysts believe J-hope's return will positively impact the K-pop industry. Yoo Sung-man, a Leading Investment and Securities analyst, commented that J-hope's comeback is a much-needed boost for HYBE, BTS' agency.

While J-hope’s solo return is a significant event, analysts suggest the full impact will be felt when all BTS members complete their military service by June 2025.

Jin, another BTS member, will release his first solo album in November, further exciting fans worldwide.
