At a rally for Kamala Harris on Tuesday, former President Barack Obama tapped into his inner MC, rapping lyrics from Eminem's iconic song Lose Yourself.

Obama was introduced on stage at the Detroit event by Eminem himself, the Grammy-winning artist. Opening his speech, the former president energized the crowd by quoting the song’s famous lyrics.

“I gotta say, I have done a lot of rallies, so I don’t usually get nervous,” Obama said. “But I was feeling some kind of way following Eminem. I noticed my palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, vomit on my sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.”

He then follows those first lines with several more lyrics from the song before chanting some of the melody as the crowd roars.

“I thought Eminem was going to be performing, I was about to jump out … love me some Eminem,” he said.

Eminem made clear his support for Harris and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz in his introduction at the rally, saying the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan were important to him and were in the spotlight going into the election in two weeks.

“I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld,” said Eminem.

The artist also supported the Biden-Harris ticket in the 2020 election while also being outspoken against former president and current presidential nominee Donald Trump.

The presidential election will take place on Nov. 5.
