Kenyan digital creator and actress Marya Okoth recently opened up about her breakup with comedian YY. In her latest YouTube video, Marya explained that she wouldn't be discussing the details of their split out of respect, noting that YY was not present to share his perspective.
“You’ve asked what happened, but I don’t think I’ll talk about it because he’s not here with me. If he were here, I’d respond, but out of respect, I won’t go into it,” Marya said. “You all knew us as a couple, with him as the man of the house, so if he’s not here, I won’t discuss it.”
Marya also shared that she’s currently single and is uncertain about going public with a relationship in the future. “Feel free to hold me to this, but I don’t think I’ll ever go public with a relationship again,” she remarked. “If I had a boyfriend, you’d see the signs. I don’t have one right now.”

Meanwhile, just a month after the breakup, YY introduced his new girlfriend, Noela. In a recent interview with SPM Buzz, YY shared his perspective on moving forward quickly, saying that waiting too long after ending a long-term relationship can make one overly accustomed to being alone, potentially making it harder to start a new connection.
YY revealed that he took time to reflect on whether the previous relationship could be saved and that in his last meeting with Marya, they reached a mutual understanding and made peace with each other.
