Chaos at Uncle Waffles Event In Kenya
In a heartfelt statement to her Kenyan fans, South African DJ Uncle Waffles criticized the event organizers for numerous shortcomings, including poor management and the mistreatment of her team and fans.
She described the For the Love of Amapiano event as one she had eagerly anticipated, only for it to turn into a deeply disappointing experience.
"From sound issues even before my performance to my team being mishandled, this wasn’t something I expected at all," she lamented.
Uncle Waffles expressed her deepest frustration over the treatment of her Kenyan fans, who were reportedly pushed around, mishandled, and treated with disregard by the event organizers and security personnel.
As tensions grew, authorities were forced to intervene, using tear gas to disperse the increasingly agitated crowd, which led to many concertgoers being forced out of the venue.
The DJ emphasized that the safety and well-being of her fans are her top priorities. She explained that she was unable to continue her set due to the visibly uncomfortable and unsafe environment for the audience.
Addressing the organizers directly, Uncle Waffles expressed that they had not only failed her but also the over 10,000 attendees who had come to support the event.
