Kenyan singer Brown Mauzo has urged his followers not to compare their marriages or relationships to what they see on social media.
On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, the "Natamani" hitmaker shared his thoughts on Instagram Stories, highlighting the dangers of virtual envy and unrealistic expectations.
Mauzo pointed out that many people share carefully curated moments on social media, often creating the illusion of a perfect life. He noted that this can leave others feeling inadequate or dissatisfied with their own relationships.
"Avoid evaluating your marriage based on what you see on the internet. People will constantly upload photos that give the impression that they are having more fun than you and your partner! Mauzo counseled his disciples to resist the urge to draw comparisons.
He also stressed that envy can be detrimental, even destructive, and encouraged his followers to step away from social media if needed.
Recently vocal about relationship matters, the musician shared advice for women on December 16, urging them to take charge of their relationship goals and clearly communicate their desire for marriage to their partners.
He urged women to expect commitment if it is what they want and to not be afraid to be direct about their intentions.
"Tell your partner, 'I'm bored of dating,' looking him in the face. "Get out of my future husband's way or marry me up," he wrote.
Mauzo is well-known for his widely reported relationship, which ended in 2023, with Kenyan socialite Vera Sidika.
The couple, who were once wed, had two kids together. Vera stated in May 2024 that there was no possibility of rekindling their romance with the musician, claiming that the romance boat had sunk.
A curious admirer questioned her about the possibility of the two former lovers, rekindling their passion and reconciling during a Q&A session on her Instagram page.
The admirer asked, "Have you ever considered the possibility that you and Mauzo could reconcile and reunite?"
Vera stated that she has no intention of reconciling with Mauzo. Meanwhile, the musician is currently in a relationship with Instagram model Nancy Kabinga, whom he recently announced he plans to marry.
