Renowned Kenyan comedian and actor Henry Desagu is currently battling a difficult phase in his life.

The beloved entertainer is reportedly suffering from depression and alcoholism, a struggle that had remained unknown to many of his fans. This heartbreaking revelation has left many deeply concerned about his well-being.

The news was first shared by Gatundu North Member of Parliament, Elijah Njoroge Kururia, through a Facebook post on Sunday morning. The legislator disclosed that Desagu’s condition had deteriorated to the point where he had been hospitalized at Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital in Nairobi.


In a show of support, MP Elijah Njoroge Kururia has taken the initiative to assist the comedian on his road to recovery. He has organized a fundraising campaign, aiming to raise Ksh 1 million to cover Desagu’s medical expenses and treatment.

Leading by example, the lawmaker has personally contributed Ksh 100,000 and called upon other influential individuals to join in the noble cause.

MP Njoroge further expressed his gratitude to Elijah Njoroge (Mofarm JM) for his ongoing support and for shedding light on the severity of Desagu’s condition, which has now led to his hospitalization.
