Inspector Mwala, real name Davis Mwabili, recently shared a video of himself enjoying a road trip to Mombasa with a co-driver.
The veteran actor appeared thrilled as he cruised in his Toyota Land Cruiser, but Kenyans were quick to notice a concerning detail.
Many social media users urged Mwala, who was previously involved in a fatal accident, to wear a seatbelt and prioritize road safety.
Why Kenyans Warn Inspekta Mwala?
A video posted on his Facebook page showed the short-statured entertainer driving his Toyota Prado SUV.
Renowned for its reliability and off-road capability, the Prado has a base price of Ksh. 5 million, with costs varying based on specifications such as engine type, interior features, and other upgrades.
Mwala laughed delightfully as he cruised along a busy road, while a man in the passenger seat recorded him.
"Mombasa, here we come," he said, as soothing Rhumba music played in the background.
The visibly excited actor was not wearing a safety belt, and momentarily released the steering wheel to clap his hands.
Mwala then turned on the volume of the music.
Many Kenyans in the comments section urged the radio presenter to abide by traffic rules, including wearing a safety belt. Others brought up a road accident the actor was previously involved in.
Here are some of the comments:
“Wear a safety belt.”
Ray Karlos:
“Drive safely and wear a seat belt last time you caused a fatal accident and people lost their loved ones.”
Wero Boiyon:
“Wear a safety belt lest you are thrown out through the sunroof.”
James Machio Di Liverpool:
“Wear a safety belt. Do you think that vehicle is your relative? You will crash through the windscreen in case of emergency braking.”
Grace Mwelu:
“How can you drive without safety belt?”
