Vanessa Bryant has settled about $29 million with Los Angeles(LA) County over graphic photos that were taken and shared when her late husband, a basketball star, Kobe Bryant, died in a helicopter crash in January 2020, alongside her daughter Gianna Bryant and seven other people in California.

According to a court filing on February 28, LA County agreed to pay the basketball star's widow and her three daughters, Capri,3, Bianka, 6, and Natalia, 20, $28.85 million to settle the lawsuit and future claims.

In a statement by Bryant's lawyer Luis Li, he said the settlement marked the end of the widow's legal battle to bring to book those involved in sharing the graphic images of the helicopter crash.

He also noted that the widow fought for her daughter, husband, daughter and everyone whose family members were involved in the crash.

The settlement ends a legal battle that has been ongoing for several years between the widow and LA county over the January 2020 crash in California on a Calabasas killing everyone on board.

The late Kobe Bryant was headed to coach her daughter Gianna's basketball team at the Mamba sports academy in California when the helicopter crashed.

After the crash, the widow found out that some Los Angeles County Sheriff and Fire departments workers had circulated images of the aftermath.

The photos shared included close-up pictures of those who died in the crash and the helicopter's wreckage.

She sued the County for invasion of privacy and negligence in September 2020. She won the case in August 2022 after a federal jury found them liable for invading the widow's privacy and Christopher Chester, her co-plaintiff.

The Jury awarded Mrs Bryant $ 15 million in August after reducing it by $1 million from $16 million due to a clerical error.
