Canadian rapper Drake was excited after finding out that he was partly Nigerian. Drake shared a copy of his results showing that his father's lineage indicated that he is 30% Nigerian.

The 'Rich Flex' singer, currently regarded as the world's largest rap talent, took to Instagram to share a screenshot from his father, Dennis Graham, which proved that the rap star's father had more Nigerian ancestors than any other ethnicity.

Drake's DNA is 30% Nigerian, 28% Cameroonian, Congolese, and Western Bantu, 11% Ivory Coasterian and Ghanaian, and 8% West and Northern European, according to the screenshot, which has delighted his Nigerian fan base.

An overjoyed Drake commented on Instagram, with over 138 million followers, "This is my Dad's results." "Does this mean I'm finally a Naija man?"

Many fans joked on Twitter that the time had come for Drake to finally release the Afrobeat album he must have been dying to release.

"Drake went to do DNA testing to see if he has Nigerian ancestors so that when he drops an Afrobeats album, no one will question him," worldwide music journalist Basito stated.

Other noteworthy US celebrities with Igbo ancestry include Lil Wayne (53%), Forest Whitaker (whose father had Igbo ancestors), and famed Televangelist Bishop TD Jakes, also from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria.
