The world-renowned Jamaican reggae legend Richie Spice will delight fans in Kisumu with a much-anticipated live performance on May 28, Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has revealed.

The county executive announced via Twitter, which included a colourful billboard advertising the event at the Mamboleo Show Grounds.

Governor Nyong'o was overjoyed, stating, "It's coming home!" Prepare for a massive live concert by Richie Spice on May 28 at the Mamboleo ASK Grounds."

The performance, sponsored by Kisumu County Government and Ziva Empire, promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for reggae fans and music lovers.



Richie Spice announced his Kenya tour intentions three weeks ago on Instagram, announcing his participation at the Good Vibes Festival on the grounds of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on May 27. "May 27 Nairobi Kenya, I'll be coming your way, get your tickets now, bless!" said the singer.

Tickets for the Nairobi event are on sale now, with regular tickets costing Ksh 2,500, VIP tickets costing Ksh 5,000, and VVIP tickets costing Ksh 7,000. Regular tickets will cost Ksh. 3,000 at the gate, VIP tickets will cost Ksh. 7,000, and VVIP tickets will cost Ksh. 9,000.

Richie Spice, well known for his association with the Rastafari movement, has an extensive musical repertoire. 'Earth a Run Red,' 'Brown Skin,' 'Grooving My Girl,' 'Marijuana,' and 'King and Queen' are among his most successful tunes.


Richie Spice's siblings, Spanner Banner and Pliers, of the legendary combo Chaka Demus. While his brothers Glenroy Bonner and Jah Mikes have dabbled in music, they are eclipsed by the prominence of Spice, Banner, and Pliers.

This will not be Richie Spice's first performance in Kenya. In 2017, he performed alongside fellow Jamaican singers Etana and Luciano at the Dobba Festival. He triumphantly returned to the 'Nobody Can Stop Reggae' performance two years later, in 2019.
