President William Ruto has named Timothy Kimani alias Njugush and Eddie Butita as two of the country's most successful creatives.

President William Ruto said the two comedians were an excellent example of the benefits of pursuing a career in the arts while making a case for arts funding among students during the Kenya National Drama Festival State Concert at State House.

On Friday, June 2, he stated that the government was eager to assist bright Kenyans in monetizing their material and earning a respectable living.

"These (Njugush and Butita) are two of our great artists who are apologizing for their content today." Gentlemen, Pongezi sana," he said.

According to President Ruto, the two comedians are generating more money than him with their content.

"Those two young men you see there, they make more money than I do." They should not be belittled; they are genuine business owners.

"Congratulations on trailblazing, on being an example to many of our young people, and on knowing that the creatives space, the YouTube space, is available for our young people," he remarked.

Njugush and Butita are regarded as Kenya's most successful comedians due to their contributions to the digital content development industry.

Njugush recently presented the fourth chapter of his Through Thick and Thin comedy special series at two sold-out gigs in the United Kingdom and Nairobi.

He has around 700,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 4 million followers throughout his social media channels.

Butita, on the other hand, has steadily risen through the comedy ranks, switching from the Churchill Show to internet comedy and being a writer and director of the first Swahili comedy on Netflix.
