Following a significant online response about the Boyz II Men concert on Saturday, notably regarding the show's sound quality, which received scathing criticism, Radio Africa Events (RA) has issued an apology.

In a statement, the events company behind 'Yetu Festival' said it had "taken note of feedback" from concert-goers via various mediums.

"We would like to address the concerns and frustrations expressed especially regarding the sound quality in the General Arena at our recent concert and the other concerns raised. We sincerely apologize for falling short of your expectations with regards, particularly to the sound quality and layout in the General Arena," the statement read.

The organizers claim they have started an inquiry to determine what caused the sound problems and to discover solutions to avoid them in the future.

"We have engaged experienced sound engineers and technical experts to analyze the situation thoroughly. We are committed to rectifying these issues and ensuring that all future concerts deliver the exceptional audio and layout experience you deserve."

The American boy band headlined the event on Saturday night, and the Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) invited official complaints on the matter on Monday.

According to accounts from concert-goers, according to ticket costs, the event did not come up to their expectations.

Others complained to the federation that the event was too brief and ill-organized, although some hailed it as an improvement over the last performance featuring American singer Anthony Hamilton.

"COFEK has since requested revelers who attended the event and have complaints to share evidence of payment and other specific complaints they have," the federation said.

The event's expensive tickets included the four-time Grammy Award winners on stage. Tickets for regular events cost Sh8,000, VIP tickets cost Sh15,000, and VVIP tickets cost Sh30,000.

A portion of the audience, however, complained on social media after the show about sound issues and overflowing beyond the tents.

Sauti Sol, a Kenyan boy band that has subsequently announced an indefinite hiatus, attended the event as well.
