Trade Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has denied Eric Omondi's claim that he reimbursed him Ksh126,000.
This is after Eric provided a screenshot of an M-Pesa transaction purporting to show Ksh126,000 sent to the Trade CS on June 24, 2023.
Keen kenyans, however, noticed that the mpesa message Eric shared was doctored and could not be true.
When confronted about the inconsistency in his M-Pesa message during an interview with Mungai Eve, Eric called Moses Kuria and put him on speaker phone to get him to affirm that he sent him the money.

The trade CS denied that he had received any money from the comedian. He, however, went on to say that he and the CS are very good friends despite the online feud.
This all started when Kuria attacked Eric for opposing the finance bill 2023. The self-proclaimed president of comedy said that kenyans must hold the kenya kwanza alliance accountable for failure to fulfil their promises. He adds that kenyans have bigger things to worry about, like not having food.
Kuria responded, saying he should not have sponsored his trip abroad and should have used that money to throw a lavish party instead because it doesn't seem like Eric learned anything from his experience abroad.
Eric omondi has been on a humanitarian parade in the past few months criticizing the government for the high cost of living in the country. He was arrested for protesting outside parliament but was later released on ksh 5000 cash bail.
The comedian was accused of creating a barricade and shouting on the road. This was deemed to be disruptive and inconvenient to other road users.
Less than a week later, he was arrested again in Kisumu during a protest march. Omondi led a group of locals protesting the high cost of living, increasing fees, and unemployment along Jomo Kenyatta Boulevard.
