A Cameroonian man who goes by the name Daniel Tembu has shocked the world after he embaked on a mission to break the Guinness world record as the longest crying individual.

the skit maker who goes by the stage name 237 town Cryer is seen on video crying painfully would make one think that he was crying about the loss of someone dear to them but he is in fact crying for a competition.



the comedian is aiming to complete over 100 hours of crying to set the record. although crying is not recognized in the Guinness world records books, several people have attempted to set the record.

Laney Brown, a two-year-old child, set an unofficial crying record in 2003 when she suffered a 74-minute crying outburst. Her mother videotaped the incident, which went viral.

In 2006, an Ohio State University student named John Cregler made headlines for his unusually extended episodes of crying. He would cry for hours on end at times and claimed to have beaten Laney Brown's record.

all these craziness started after Nigerian chef Hilda Baci broke the record for the longest running cooking marathon.

The 27-year-old cook smashed the 87-hour-45-minute record held by Lata Tondon, who is now a former Guinness World Record holder.

Over the course of four days, she cooked hundreds of dinners and served thousands of customers.

“Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes,” GWR said.

After reviewing the footage, Guinness World Records declared Hilda Baci is the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual) GWR.

"As with all longest marathon records, the participant is allowed a five-minute rest break for every hour of continuous activity." If these rest periods are not taken, they can add up. During the effort, they were the only times Hilda could use the restroom or sleep," according to the statement.

Hilda said she tried the Guinness World Record to "put Nigerian cuisine on the map" and "inspire young African women to chase their dreams."
