During a candid podcast interview, Willis Raburu, a seasoned media personality, had an open and heartfelt conversation. In this deeply personal discussion, Raburu bravely shared his ongoing struggle with weight. He revealed that he endured a lot of ridicule and criticism due to his body weight, which has been a challenging aspect of his life journey.

Unfortunately, some of his media industry acquaintances joined online trolls in body shaming him. His mental health suffered as a result.
The criticisms, in Raburu's opinion, were obscene and vicious. Every time he posted a photo, people would flood his timeline with derogatory remarks. It reached a point when he could not read the comments anymore to protect his mental health.

"It was actually really stressing, hurting, and disturbing. It got to me a lot of times. Sometimes you've just posted a picture, but the comments, what people are saying… And it's more of how they're saying it. They're very vulgar and ruthless," Raburu on the podcast.
Raburu described how a radio host who he did not name made a harsh remark that greatly upset him. He had no choice but to confront the radio host and express his displeasure.

He highlighted the value of encouraging one another rather than criticizing one another. After having a gastric bypass operation, Raburu has now dropped weight.
