The Kenyan diaspora entertainment industry is in sorrow following the terrible death of one of its greatest disk jockeys, DJ Babu, in a road accident.

Based in Dubai, DJ Babu was killed just days after hosting rapper Khaligraph Jones in the same city.

DJ Babu, known for his enthusiasm and enormous talent, was lauded by many for his everlasting dedication to his profession and his proud promotion to Kenya.


DJ Babu's career as a DJ began in late 2008, and in 2013, he founded Jamdown Dubai. This platform actively promoted and supported the entertainment sector by making connections and cultivating a dynamic music community.

His initiatives aided the international growth and success of Kenyan artists and performers. Celebrities and musicians remember DJ Babu.

The unexpected news of his death has shocked and saddened fans and colleagues alike. Khaligraph Jones shared his sadness over the end of his friend, who had just hosted him on July 29.


"Dunia iko na mambo zingine hata huwezi elewa. RIP DJ Babu, Flew us in for a gig in Dubai barely two ago, had a successful show, and now he is no more," Khaligraph wrote on his Instagram.

DJ Creme de la Creme, one of DJ Babu's close friends, expressed his shock at the loss and thanked Babu for the great energy he gave, the innumerable gigs he did, and his generosity in sharing the gift of music with everyone.
