On Wednesday, August 2, 2023, multi-award-winning Afrobeats musician and record executive David Adeleke, best known by his stage as Davido became one among the artists with more than a billion streams across different digital platforms for their studio project.
With the release of his studio album "Timeless" on March 31, 2023, Davido accomplished this accomplishment.

This was made known via the singer’s statistics Twitter handle @DAVIDO_STATS. He tagged the post with a green love emoji and added an appreciation message to fans for making it happen after four months of the album’s release.

‘Timeless’, Davido’s fourth studio album, comprises 17 tracks with collaboration from several local and international artists as well.
These streams were accrued for the album across four significant streaming services, including Apple Music and Spotify.
In accordance with Davido's post, the album received a total of about 1,021 billion streams in the fourth month, including 275.7 million streams on Audiomack, 190 million streams on Apple Music, 240.7 million streams on Boomplay, 191.5 million streams on Spotify, and 123.9 million streams on YouTube Music.


Amapiano and highlife were among the musical genres explored on Davido's album, which also featured hit songs like "Unavailable" and "Champion Sound," the latter of which featured South African Amapiano singer Focalitic and is currently trending on various streaming services.
This accomplishment serves as further evidence of the global awareness and acceptance that Afrobeats is receiving.
Like Davido, numerous African musicians have thrived in recent years. One such artist is Wizkid, a Grammy-winning singer from Nigeria who recently sold out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and received recognition for having amassed more than a billion streams in the UK.
