Celebrated gospel artist Fredrick Karumba, better known as DJ Krowbar, is seeking financial assistance for his wife, who needs a kidney transplant.
The pair said in a joint statement that Wanjiru has been battling the disease and is now in the latter stages of therapy, which will cost at least KSh 6 million.
"When this journey began, I remember joining hands with my wife and saying, 'One day, we shall see the end of this.'" Now the end is near, and we need your prayers and financial support to grasp our hands and make this miracle a reality," Krowbar stated in one of his posts.
In a video clip, the DJ also commended his wife for fighting the sickness, calling her a hero in the fight.
"Two years ago, my wife was diagnosed with kidney failure. It's been a wild ride, but there's now light at the end of the tunnel. Capes are not worn by heroes. "Heroes look like this, Mercy," Krowbar explained.
Wanjiru, a fashion designer, kept working while her husband studied. They returned to Kenya, however, before she was diagnosed with the condition.
