Dr. Ofweneke, a well-known comedian, has finally clarified why his marriage to gospel singer  Nicah the Queen ended.

During an interview with Obinna, he shared intimate details of what finally caused the once-happy marriage to end. He also added that while he greatly loved Nicah, he realized he had forgotten to love himself.

"I ignored the foundation. Why relationships don’t work out is because we get into relationships with the idea of changing what attracted us to them in the beginning. You get? This is what I like about you, then I want to come in and do a whole interior redecorating. So I want to turn you into what I prefer," he said.

He continued that the largest error Ofweneke made in the marriage was to place Nicah—the other party—on the hook for his happiness.

"People are stuck in power bank relationships whereby one person just charges the other. So the other one is full, and the other one is left empty," he stated.

Ofweneke, who has previously engaged in public disputes with his ex-wife, added that after being left high and dry, people eventually cheat to find new energy sources. He said, "They have to go look for another person to refill them."

While expressing remorse for how the marriage crumbled, Ofweneke also revealed that they ended the union amicably, in fact, while the couple was relaxing at home.

"I loved Nicah so much that I forgot myself, but the day I rediscovered myself is the day I told her mama, it's been a good stretch. Actually, we were holding hands watching Netflix. We were in the house, the kids were there, my brother and sister," he said.

The Christian TV personality concluded by claiming that Nicah The Queen was not the right woman for him, and he was eager to listen to God's voice.

"We weren't the ideal match for one another... God was giggling in my ear the day I left, telling me that this was not the marriage he had in mind for me. She is a wonderful woman, but she is not who I had in mind for you. So you chose aesthetics, whereas I chose the calling," he said.
