Mike Sonko, a former governor of Nairobi and philanthropist, is proud and heartbroken that his youngest daughter, Sandra Mbuvi, is leaving the nest.
The politician revealed that his daughter Sandra Mbuvi was relocating to London to continue her education after graduating high school. He posted a lovely video montage with images of the family taking Sandra to the airport on his Instagram page.
The 48-year-old lawmaker stressed that moving his daughter would be tough for him because he was so used to having his kid around the house.
"With a heart full of mixed emotions tonight, I am thrilled but sad at the same time seeing off my lovely daughter Sandra Mbuvi to London, where she'll be joining Brighton International University for a four-year course after graduating from St. Austins Academy, Nairobi.

Dear daughter, I want you to know how proud I am of the adventurous spirit within you. Watching you spread your wings and embark on this exciting journey to study abroad fills me with happiness for all the opportunities and experiences that await you," part of his heartfelt caption read.
He continued by saying that while he was happy for his daughter to experience new things, he was also unfortunate that his wife Primrose wouldn't be there because she would keep Sandra company while the child settled in London. His home would now be even more deserted as a result.
"Yet, at the same time, a part of me feels a profound sadness, realizing how much I'll miss your presence, our daily conversations, and the warmth of your smile.
As you adjust to the new surroundings and culture, the house will feel more empty without your laughter and that of your mother, who will be abroad for the next four months.
Safe travels, success, and happiness on your journey and in your new life. His final post said, "I love you so much.
Sandra, for her part, shared photos of her and her father holding hands and captioned them, "Not the two of us crying," She also uploaded a video of herself posing with her parents and younger brother Satrine, who was sobbing uncontrollably at the airport.
