When Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz started crying on stage yesterday, fans were surprised.

His unusual behavior was brought on by his rumored lover Zuchu, who has been romantically associated with him for about two years.

While playing at the Wasafi Festival, which was taking place in the Sumbawanga neighborhood, he did this while singing his 2015 hit, Utanipenda.

The musician, who isn't known for displaying much emotion in public, took advantage of the opportunity to go all out for his signee. He even knelt on stage while singing the chorus and adding Zuchu's name, pleading with her to continue loving him even if things didn't work out.

Significantly, he changed the chorus to include the name of Zuchu after originally singing the song with the name of his first baby mother, Zari.

"Bado nawaza sana, je itakapofika tama Zuchu utanipenda?... na magazeti yatanibwaga utasikia tafarani eti mpaka kwa Zuchu nimemwagwa na venye nilivyo mnyonge."

The fact that Diamond is going to such lengths to honor Zuchu surprises many keen observers who are aware of his reputation as a player.

The singer of "Sukari" and the singer of "African Beauty" have frequently avoided saying whether they were dating and have sent confusing indications about their relationship.

Zuchu has been the driving force behind their connection and is the one who appears to be forcing Diamond to make her public claim, as seen by her many declarations of love for Diamond.

Given that none of Mr. Platnumz's previous girlfriends ever received a marriage proposal, many people will now wonder if he will do so after making this public revelation.
