Fans have criticized Tanzanian musician Mbwana Yusuph Kilungi, also known as Mbosso, for wearing a Dera dress on social media.

Mbosso appeared on stage for his performance at the Wasafi Festival wearing a yellow Dera dress and a headscarf.

Mbosso launched a contentious stage entrance, following in the footsteps of his boss, Diamond Platnumz, and sent tongues wagging.

The "Dera" is a reasonably priced, breathable dress available in various colors, and Swahili women favor it.

The crowd cheered hysterically when Mbosso took the stage to perform his most recent amapiano hit.

Before bursting into a spirited dance, the reliable hitmaker gently walked around the platform, allowing the audience time to take it all in.

Social media users swarmed to the comment area to make fun of Mbosso's attire, while others praised the singer and insisted that he looked stunning while embracing the feminine style.

Here are a few remarks:

"Where are we headed. Men want to be women while women are becoming men."

"Are this the role model of our children what a weak generation."

"Kuna wakati lazima wasanii mzingatie uafrica wetu sasa hapa watoto wetu wanajifunza nini."
