Renowned Kenyan Swahili news anchor Fridah Mwaka found herself in a swift moment of action when she unexpectedly faced a wardrobe malfunction while on duty.
As depicted in a video shared on her Instagram account, the seasoned journalist made it evident that the zipper at the back of her red dress had unfortunately become damaged.
Due to the extent of the damage, Fridah Mwaka was unable to fasten it securely at the top as intended. Consequently, she had to devise an alternative method to conceal that area.

Ingeniously, the stylish NTV Swahili news anchor employed a safety pin, which effectively secured the dress's parts together. Although there was still a portion of her skin exposed, it provided a suitable fix for the situation.
Fridah Mwaka's co-anchor and longtime friend, Lofty Matambo, was quick to spot the situation and playfully teased her about it. In the brief video, he can be heard gently remarking on Fridah's attire, jokingly referring to it as a form of improper dressing for the workplace.
"Runinga yako uipendayo ya the duo inakuletea. Kwa mara nyingine tena tunakuletea mui huzidi kuwa mui...
"Now, what's going on here? You see, up front, people think you're a very important person when you're reading the news, but behind... let me leave it at that..." he said in part.
In the video, Lofty Matambo also mentioned that this was the second time Fridah Mwaka's back zipper had suffered damage, and interestingly, it happened while she was wearing the same red dress.
"Na ni mara ya pili hii. Kuna wakati mwingine ilifanya hivi tukapeleka hii nguo kwa fundi ikashonwa ikarudi, saa hii tena umerudi pale pale. Kweli toa nyani kichakani lakini unyani hauwezi mtoka..." he said.
In response to the 'scolding', Fridah Mwaka jokingly questioned Lofty Matambo if he was trying to reveal her little-known antics to the world.
"Are you exposing me to the world Lofty?" She asked.
Lofty Matambo, however, insisted that he simply wanted to bring attention to what he perceived as inappropriate behavior.
"I'm exposing the rot in society" He said as they all laughed.
