Livestock farmers are counting losses after a black quarter disease attack left 27 cows dead in the Winjo region in the Muhuru district of Nyatike, Migori County.
Winjo Sub-location Assistant Chief Benard Nyitambe stated that the deaths happened in a week.
According to Mr. Nyitambe, many additional cows are in serious condition due to the Black Quarter disease epidemic in the sub-location and surrounding locations.
The administrator stated that they had communicated with the relevant department but had yet to get assistance from the veterinary officials.
