The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced the re-deployment of Lilian Nyawanda as the Commissioner of Customs and Border Control (C&BC).

According to KRA, the commissioner will oversee the department’s core trade facilitation, border control, and revenue mobilization business.

“The re-deployment follows her release by the National Treasury and Economic Planning, where she served on secondment,” read part of the statement.

She had served in the post for over two years before her secondment to the National Treasury and Economic Planning.

KRA is optimistic about her’s vast knowledge and expertise in the public and private sectors.

Nyamwanda has a Master's degree in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the United States International University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from the University of Nairobi.

She also holds a Certificate in Customs and Tax Administration from the Kenya School of Revenue Administration (KESRA).
