The Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) has announced generating Kes 200 million from passport deliveries in the financial year ending June 2023.
The corporation, in 2022, stated that it would start distributing about 50,000 passports amid a backlog of cases at the Immigration Department.
In accordance with the agreement, Posta was to provide the travel document to customers right at their doorsteps, eliminating the need for customers to go to actual passport offices for pick-up.
“PCK has generated revenue more than Kes 200 million from the delivery of passports across the country,” the Ministry of Information, Communication & the Digital Economy said its one-year scorecard.
Further, the Ministry noted that it is working with the Department of Immigration to offer a one-stop service from ordering a passport to tracking last-mile delivery as a service as part of digitalizing government services on E-Citizen.
