A week before it opens in theaters, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert film has surpassed all box office expectations.
According to its distributor AMC, global advance ticket sales for the film have reached $100 million (£82 million), and demand "has been incredible from the moment it was first announced."

The company said the movie broke its record for the most significant one-day sales in less than 24 hours.

According to Spotify, Swift made history in August when she became the first female artist ever to achieve 100 million monthly listeners.
The news was announced following the success of her third re-recorded album, Speak Now (Taylor's Version), which topped the US and UK charts when it was released in July.
Swift will release her new album, 1989 (Taylor's Version), later this month. She is redoing her earlier albums so that she may possess the original takes of the songs.
