A churchgoer who paid Ksh 500 as an offering has been called out by Pastor Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism. Pastor Ng'ang'a reported that a congregation member begged him to pray for his family, including his children, during a sermon.

" kuna mwingine Jana alinipea Mia tano akaniambia nikumbuke watoto wake, wajukuu wake. Mia tano!"

The controversial pastor said Ksh 500 is unacceptable in this economy since it cannot even cater to his car's fuel.

"Sasa Mimi nitawakumbuka aje? Mia tano! Ata hakuna mafuta ya gari ya Mia tano. Hiyo labda watu wa pikipiki."

The preacher continued by saying he could not conduct a Ksh 500 service. He advised people who would only pay a small sum for him to pray for them to seek out other options, such as witch doctors.

"Hiyo no Ibada namna gani, Ibada ya Mia tano Fanya na waganga wa Nairobi. Wale wa panda mbegu, Sisi hatuna hiyo. We teach you, if you want to do, it's up to you. If you don't, hapa si wewe ulinunua ulitupata hapa."

The preacher stated that he had other businesses before beginning his ministry and that he is not dependent on church offerings for his existence in an earlier interview with Radio Jambo host Massawe Japanni.

"One thing you should know is that I am a very rich pastor. I had many shops before starting my ministry which I gave away."
