Smith, 55, and Pinkett Smith, 52, have been married since 1997. According to Pinkett Smith, they are not legally divorced.
August Alsina, a singer, disclosed in July 2020 that he had been romantically linked with Pinkett Smith, which she verified during an episode with her husband on "Red Table Talk."
"I got into an entanglement with August," Pinkett Smith explained at the time, adding that the celebrity couple was "going through a very difficult time" at the time.
During their discussion, Jada Pinkett revealed that her marriage was shattered due to "a lot of things."
"I think by the time we got to 2016, we were both just exhausted with trying," Pinkett Smith explained. "I think we were both kind of still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be."
She said she "made a promise" to Smith that there would never be a reason for them to divorce, "and I just haven't been able to break that promise," she said.
In her upcoming biography, "Worthy," Pinkett Smith shares more about her marriage, career, and early life. The book will be available on October 17th.
