Colonel Mustafa Explains Why His Shop Remains Closed Despite Kenyans Fundraising for Him

Colonel Mustafa, a rapper and musician from Kenya, has opened up about why his clothing and sneaker store is still closed despite donations from the country's citizens funding its opening.

Rapper Mustafa had asked for assistance to open a business, but fans discovered the shop was closed. This led to the rapper's whereabouts becoming public.

The rapper clarified the current situation in an interview with Mungai Eve, refuting rumors that the Chokaa store had been closed down permanently.

"Shop kweli imekuwa ikifungwa lakini si ati tumefunga shop mambo yamekuwa mengi sana. Bado nilikuwa nashughulika na mama tulikuwa tunangoja baada hio radio therapy tufanye pediscan. Hicho ndicho kitu kimekuwa kikinifanya nisipatikane sana kazini pale kwenye shop. Apart from that mambo ya music na pia nimekuwa na shows nyingi nafanya na sijapata mtu mwenye naweza mueka pale mwenye naamini kabisa anaezaniendeleshea kazi mpka mimi mwenyewe nirudi."

Regarding his sick mother, Mustafa reported that she was making good progress in her fight against cancer and was currently working out to build up her physical strength. He has received training on how to care for cancer patients as a caregiver.

Mustafa saw a significant change in his course in life after a video of him laboring on a building site went viral and attracted public notice.

Mustafa, who has been absent for a while, was caught on camera transporting building bricks. He had a one-week contract at Donholm Construction and was working to pay his mother's medical bills.

He appeared in multiple interviews following the viral video, pleading with well-wishers for help so he could take care of his mother. He claimed that to put food on the table and cover some expenses, he needed a job or money to start a business.

A group of well-wishers led by Fauz Khalid had given the rapper about Sh600,000. Additionally, Jaguar and his pals raised more than Ksh 1 million for the rapper.
