Comedian Ayo Makun, also known as AY, publicly extended his apology to Davido for a jest he made regarding women getting pregnant for the singer during a public event in Warri. AY, the renowned comedian and actor, used his social media platform on Sunday, October 8, 2023, to express his regret and issue the apology to the acclaimed singer and performer Davido.
During his guest appearance at an event in Warri, Delta state, AY incorporated humor by referencing Davido's popular track "Unavailable." He playfully pondered what would occur if the singer were indeed available, considering the attention he received even when he wasn't.
These remarks from the comedian are thought to have stemmed from a situation earlier in the year when Davido faced allegations from several women on social media, claiming he had impregnated them while he was still married to his wife Chioma.
In his apology, AY acknowledged that making such a joke was a mistake, and he expressed his sincere regret to Davido, emphasizing that no harm was intended. His statement on social media read as follows:
"I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn't even call it a joke anymore. It wasn't funny like it was during my tour of US and Canada, and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it. Please know that it is always a learning experience for all of us in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash or negative thoughts coming my way for the joke that was badly delivered in Warri. So, no excuses at all, my Aburo. No reason am. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido."
