Robert Malcolm, popularly known as Gully Bop, was a dancehall artist from Jamaica. He died at the age of 62.

Gully Bop's kidney disease complications led to his admission to the Kingston Public Hospital. He died on Monday, according to his pastor, El'Shaddai Prophetic Ministries' Christopher Tate.

It was reported that Gully Bop had experienced health problems recently. The 'Body Specialist' deejay supposedly had surgery at the Kingston Public Hospital in 2022. He apparently underwent a kidney transplant a year later.

Gully Bop, formerly known as Country Man, saw his star rise quickly in 2014 after a video of him free-styling went viral. Bop, who was living on the streets in Grants Pen, St Andrew, at the time, rose to fame quickly thanks to social media.

Because of his success, he was selected as one of Sting 2014's main acts, performing songs like Dream, Dem Nuh Bad Like We, and Body Specialist.

Before he passed away, Gully Bop had been baptized "at an associate's church," according to Pastor Tate.

May his soul rest in peace, and my condolences go out to his family and friends.
