Barely five months after breaking the record for the longest cook-a-thon, Nigerian chef Hilda Baci was dethroned. by the Irish restaurant owner Alan Fisher.

Over 100 pots of food were prepared by the 26-year-old Nigerian chef during her four-day culinary marathon, which started on Thursday, May 11, and ended on Monday, May 15.

Hilda tried to break the record with 100 hours, but she took an extra minute for one of her rest breaks early in the attempt, which took nearly seven hours away from her final total.

Fisher started his nonstop cooking marathon on Thursday, September 29, at 4 p.m., creating classic Irish fare like chowder, stew, bacon, and cabbage. He finished triumphantly on Monday, 120 hours later.

By cooking for 119 hours and 57 minutes, Alan Fisher beat the previous record by more than 24 hours, setting a new record for the longest cooking marathon.

With 47 hours and 21 minutes, Fisher surpassed Wendy Sandner's previous record of 31 and 16 minutes to claim the title of the longest baking marathon.

Amazingly, Fisher completed both marathons quickly, putting in over 160 hours of work total with barely a day's break in between.

Hilda praised Mr. Fisher, the new record holder, for accomplishing the feat and called it "a huge achievement" in her reaction shortly after the announcement.
