Over the weekend, a candlelight vigil was held in honor of the late singer Ally B.. After a protracted illness, the "Bembea" hitmaker was buried on November 2.

The coastal music and entertainment fraternity organized the vigil. Presenters, producers, musicians, and family gathered for the vigil to honor the artist.

"Jana niliungana na ndugu zangu na wadau mbali mbali mjini Mombasa kwa zoezi la kumuaga kipenzi chetu ALI B,kwa mishumaa na mkono wa buriani...Endelea kulala pema Kaka yetu ,May your legacy be forever 🙏!! Umauti ni mawaidha tosha," he said.


Ally's brother asked those in the entertainment business not to play the singer's songs shortly after Ally passed away.

“Tunaomba news anchors, radio presenters, ma-dj, tafadhali naomba, nyimbo za Ally msicheze. Tafadhali naomba,” 

“Msicheze miziki yake tena. Naomba iwe anayetaka akimkumbuka amtilie dua. Lakini msipige miziki yake, tafadhali. Twaomba,” Ally B's brother continued.

“Nyimbo zake tosha. Muombeeni lakini msipige miziki yake. Mimi kama ndugu yake nimesema,” he concluded.

President William Ruto led Kenyans in their time of grief over Ally B. The President of State extolled Ally B as a performer who consistently advocated for harmony.



“I join the music fraternity in mourning the passing of Ally B, a musician who harnessed his talent to foster unity and harmony in our society. 

“Ali Khamisi Mwanguli inscribed his message of peace deep within our hearts, and we will forever carry that meaningful tune. May God provide solace to his family, friends, and devoted fans,” President William Ruto.
