After cooking continuously for 150 hours and 11 seconds, Kenyan chef Maliha Mohammed set a new record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
The renowned chef shattered the previous record, set on November 7, 2023, by Irishman Alan Fisher, with 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds.
Maliha underwent six exhausting days during which her physical and mental fortitude were put to the ultimate test.
She thanked everyone who helped her realize her dream and shared the fantastic news on social media, showing her determination to push herself further.

"The lion, the conqueror, the champion is here! 150 hours and the record is home. Thanks to all that came through especially Kenyans that made it to witness this prolific moment in time. Remember, be phenomenal or be forgotten!"
She said in an interview that starting this adventure was unquestionably one of the most challenging yet most rewarding things she had done in her career.
"Every second felt like an eternity, but also an opportunity to push beyond limits. This has not just been a personal triumph but a celebration of the resilience that resides within each one of us. It has been a journey and labor of love from Kenyans from all walks of life."
Maliha gained notoriety in August when she broke the record for the longest home kitchen cooking marathon—90 hours and 15 minutes—held by Los Angeles, California's Rickey Lumpkin II.
Maliha has succeeded in the kitchen, but the Guinness World Records (GWR) still needs to give her official recognition.
Chef Maliha, congratulations!
