However, the collaborative efforts of three individuals played a crucial role in propelling the song's success and achieving impressive viewership.
In an interview with Nicholas Kioko, Millicent Jerotich, known as Marakwet Daughter, shared insights into the behind-the-scenes journey of 'Mali Safi Chito.'
The initial driving force in this success narrative was her YouTube account manager, Andrew Kandie, who identified the song's potential right from its inception.
"Uyo mtu anaitwa Andrew Kandie nlimpatia song aliangalia akasonga nyuma kidogo akaniambia hii jina ya song itaiuza," revealed Jerotich.
As Kandie handled the uploading of the song to YouTube, Marakwet Daughter shared it with friends on WhatsApp.
During this sharing process, one of her friends proposed a TikTok challenge, a suggestion initially met with skepticism given the singer's past song performances.
However, despite the doubts, the friend persisted, and the TikTok challenge swiftly catapulted the song to viral status.
"Alifanya challenge alafu she called me after two hours akaniambia nifanye challenge sababu song ilikua imeenda staki watu wafikirie ni yangu, ikusaidie followers na viewers," she added.
Acknowledging the escalating popularity of the song, Marakwet Daughter enlisted the help of a friend employed at KTN to shoot and edit the video overnight. By morning, the video was on YouTube and gaining traction.
