Kenyans are still expressing their views on the unresolved issue of Sanaipei Tande's unpaid Kalasha prize money, a year after it was supposed to be awarded by Ababu Namwamba’s office. The singer, known for her hit song "Jali," criticized the allocation of Ababu Namwamba's 167 Million budget for the Kenya National Theater renovations, arguing that it came at the expense of supporting existing talents. Despite being an accomplished singer and actress, Sanaipei Tande has faced delays in receiving the 200k Kalasha prize money.

On her Instagram account, Sanaipei took a stand, publicly addressing the Kenya Film Commission, Kalasha Kenya, and Ababu Namwamba for withholding the prize money and neglecting to resolve the issue.
“1 year later no prize money and no communication on the same from @kenyafilmcommission @kalashakenya or #ababunamwamba” posed Sanaipei.



The Karaoke queen criticized Ababu Namwamba's allocation of 167 Million for the Kenya National Theater renovations, emphasizing that it came at the cost of supporting existing talent in favor of nurturing new ones.
Sanaipei concluded her statement by sharing a photo of herself, happily holding her Kalasha award with a cute smile. Additionally, she posted screenshots of Ababu Namwamba confirming that the prize money was slightly above 200k.



She further shared screenshots of a local daily that ran the publication on the award gala.
