Jazeel Hirji, the son of veteran singer Nazizi Hirji, died in an accident while on holiday with his parents in Tanzania on Christmas.
According to a statement released on social media by Nazizi, Jazeel perished in the accident at the hotel where they were staying.
"We lost this young soul in an unfortunate accident at the hotel where the family was staying," said a portion of the statement.

According to his religion, Jazeel's body was moved to Nairobi and buried on Wednesday.
"The void left by the loss is both immeasurable, and the pain is unbearable," he said.
As the family mourns Jazeel, the songstress has asked for privacy.
"We appeal for your compassion and understanding out of respect for their need for peace during this time of mourning."
