Master Jay asserts that Tanzanians excel as entertainers and have a superior ability to strategically position themselves compared to their Kenyan counterparts. The Kenya, Tanzania beef has been once again ignited by bongo flava producer, Master Jay over his “Washamba” tagline towards Kenyan artists. Kenyans hit back at the celebrated record mogul not buying his sentiments.
In a recent media interview, Master Jay reiterated his belief that Tanzanians outshine Kenyans in the realm of entertainment. He further emphasized that when it comes to branding, self-positioning, and effective use of social media, Kenyans still have some catching up to do. Master Jay went on to mock Kenyans for their proficiency in English, stating that it doesn't necessarily translate to tangible achievements.
“Kenyans hawajui kujibrand kama sisi infact wasanii wetu wanajua kujibrand…we know how to brand na tunajua kufanya marketing kwenye social media kuliko wao wale bado washamba washamba hivi hata wanavyovyaa” he asserted partly.
Master Jay asserts that Tanzanian artists rake in substantial earnings in showbiz due to their outstanding performances.
“Kaeni na kiingereza chenu lakini the best entertainers tunao sisi ndio mana wanakuja kwenu tena wanasema wanachukua hela kwenye magunia” he continued partly.
However, when it comes to singing, Master Jay gave it to Kenyans.
“Kenyans are better singers kuliko sisi” he explained partly.
In this context, he drew a comparison between Alikiba and Diamond.
According to him, Alikiba is a superior singer, while Diamond stands out as the ultimate entertainer.
Nevertheless, a handful of figures from the Kenyan creative industry, including Shaffie Weru, Terrence Creative, Okello Max, Boniface Mwangi, and Yaba, have all expressed their support for Master Jay.
