Journalist Tony Kwalanda has finally revealed what led to the split between him and media personality Joyce Maina.
In an interview with Radio47Ke, Kwalanda revealed that despite his strong respect for Maina, some differences caused him to reconsider their compatibility.
During the interview, Kwalanda revealed that they had reached a point in their relationship where they were considering moving in together and that both their families were aware of their intentions.

"I loved Joyce Maina very much...we met in a very funny way, but there came a time when my heart told me to love her, so I opened my heart, and we dated," he recalled.
However, differences in culture quickly emerged, especially when it came to the naming of their future children.
Maina expressed preferences for her children's names, which contradicted Kwalanda's traditional expectations.
"In our customs from Malava, men name the children... Joyce said she's the carrier, implying she would have the final say in naming, regardless of my input," Kwalanda explained.
"Hearing her say that if she were pregnant and came home, she'd want me to cook for her... that's a red flag for us men from Western [Kenya]. We don't like being reminded [of such expectations]," he added.
Kwalanda, who hails from the Kabras tribe, said that he had to end things early before they faced more challenges down the line.
